In 2015, Prof. Menashe and his colleagues from Ben Gurion University (BGU) and Soroka University Medical Center (SUMC) established the Negev Autism Center with the goal to create an interdisciplinary regional database of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) that will help advancing research diagnosis and treatment of children with ASD. In 2018, the Ministry of Science and Technology of Israel gave us a funding to turn our regional center into the National Autism Center of Israel. For that, we expanded our data collection by collaboration with other autism centers in Israel while strengthening the clinical and scientific partnership that we have formed at the center. In 2021, The Azrieli Foundation, gave us a generous donation to further expand our research endeavors and data collection throughout the country to turn Israel into an international leader in the development and implementation of effective diagnosis and treatment for ASD and other neurodevelopment conditions.
